Bring the outdoors into your studio! This class is designed for those who want to recreate the feel of the great outdoors, through the use of photographs and other references. The instructor is an experienced plein air painter who will help the student translate the reference image into a painting that breathes like one done in the fresh air. There will be a focus on aerial perspective and keeping the painting “fresh”. Appropriate for both beginners and more experienced painters, who wish to build skills in painting with pastels. Students are welcome to bring in photos that they would like to work from or chose from images provided by the instructor.

This workshop is appropriate for all levels with a basic understanding of the materials. Color, atmosphere, perspective and more will be covered on site. Emphasis will be on using color to show shape and form, seeing the large shapes and keeping the painting fresh! Instructor will offer demonstration and critique along with individual attention to each student’s needs. Students will need a portable easel (instructor has a couple to lend if arrangements are made ahead of time). WATERCOLOR PAINTING SUPPLY LIST
